Model: Vespa Douglas
Age: 1961
Mileage: 1100 miles (on clock not verified)
Engine: 125cc
Condition: Repainted and conserved with patina
The Vespa Douglas 152L2 was released in 1959 as Douglas began to source more parts from Piaggio to keep aligned to the changes in scooter style that were coming from Italy. The performance of the 125cc rotary engine was an improvement on the previous 92L2 and the cast handlebars were the signs of a new era in styling for the 1960’s. Genuine British built Douglas Vespas are becoming increasingly more collectable and this one is a beauty.
432 ACE is an extremely interesting 1961 example having had only 2 owners and a complete internal engine rebuild using more than £500 of parts alone. Matching engine and frame numbers. The number plate has been valued at over £3000 and is just waiting for a mod who is the ACE FACE to claim it. Having the brown buff log book it is guaranteed that this scooter can retain its original UK number however we have not registered it yet because if someone who knows how to do this (better than I) they could possibly have a transferable number. And a very inexpensive and delightful scooter in the process.
This baby comes with a large history file and is adorned by some lovely and valuable period original accessories. It is possible that together with this unrepeatable number plate this scooter could be restored into something truly magnificent. Guaranteed matching numbers confirmed by the original log book.
Transport can be arranged at cost and viewing in North Devon is welcomed. She has been seen as a running scooter recently however no warranty is given or implied
